REACH is now in force and is beginning to have a significant impact on the electronics industry. Manufacturers both within and outside the EU will be affected with important deadlines that must be met in 2008 and 2009. Failure to plan ahead could cause serious
disruption to business — enforced design change and loss of sales due to the inability to meet customers REACH requirements are particular risks.
REACH not only affect manufacturers that import the chemicals into EU, but also has obligations for formulators and manufacturers of components, PCBs, sub-assemblies
and equipment both in and outside the EU. REACH is already having an impact as some substances have been withdrawn from the EU market and others are likely to follow.

לפיכך, אנו ממליצים על נקיטת האמצעים הבאים:
איתור החומרים (VHCS). בשלב הנוכחי, התפרסם רק החלק הראשון של רשימת החומרים לגביהם יש לבחון את חובת מתן הודעה לסוכנות האירופאית. עם זאת, לאור הקריטריונים לקביעת רשימת החומרים, ולאור החקיקה הקיימת כבר היום בנושא כימיקלים, נכון יהיה לבצע הערכה של רשימת חומרים אפשרית ולבחון האם חומרים אלו נמצאים במכשירים המיוצרים.

חשוב מאוד להתחיל כבר עתה בהכנת תיק הצהרות יצרן בכל הנוגע לקיומם של חומרים מסוג SVHC. ראשית, כדי למסור הודעות הנדרשות כבר היום למשתמשים המקצועיים. שנית, למסירת הודעות על-פי דרישה ללקוחות קצה. שלישית, על-מנת להיערך לאכיפה מסחרית: לחצים עתידיים מצד לקוחות או תנאי סף במכרזים. במקרים אלו, לא ניתן יהיה להכין את התיק באופן מיידי.
אנו ממליצים להכליל כבר עתה, במסגרת שיקולי מחקר ופיתוח של מוצרים עתידיים, את בדיקת החומרים הללו, ומיטב ההערכה לגבי מה ייכנס לרשימה בעתיד. כך תוכלו למנוע מעצמכם מגבלות בעתיד.
מידע, מידע ועוד פעם מידע. מידע הוא כוח, והוא שווה כסף. תקנות REACH קשות ליישום לא רק לתעשייה, אלא גם לרגולטורים באירופה. לא בכדי, במדריכים ליישום REACH שונו גישות וניתנו הוראות סותרות מספר פעמים. התעדכנות מתמידה בשינויים, במיוחד בתקופה זו של "הולדת" החקיקה ותחילת יישומה, חשובים ביותר על-מנת למנוע טעויות כמו התעלמות מהנחיות חדשות או התייחסות להוראות שבוטלו.
תישארו מעודכנים. הכרת התקנות האירופאיות חשובה, אבל אסור לשכוח להתעדכן לגבי מדינות אחרות. בארה"ב מתקיימים דיונים על שילוב הוראות דומות ל-REACH - כנראה במסגרת חוק החומרים המסוכנים האמריקאי ([3]TSCA). גם בקוריאה, ביפן ובסין מתקיימים דיונים דומים. המלצתנו: אל תישארו מאחור. התעלמות מהוראות חוק רלוונטיות, עלולות להביא להפקרת שווקים ולאיבודם.
וכמו תמיד – היערכות מוקדמת שווה כסף. תמיד נכון לבחון את הדברים מבעוד מועד, כאשר יש זמן, ולא תחת לחץ.

REACH/SVHC and Halogen-free flaggingThis new feature identifies the 15 named Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) under the European Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and restriction of Chemicals Reach legislation. Additionally, Halogen-free products will be flagged and tracked for reporting purposes. Users will be able to submit any board-level electronic component through Total Parts Plus' web application and generate the named material, weights and measures required for REACH reporting.

PCN daily text file alertsUsers may now elect to receive a daily text notification on any new PCNs and/or PDNs that are posted. An expansion of the current PCN Alert configuration, the daily text option provides additional preferences for receiving alerts beyond exact matches and alternates. For example, users may elect to include wildcard matches.
New Environmental ReportIn response to the increased request to combine obsolescence data with RoHS compliance information, TPP has added the “RefPN Flag/Process Information” report to the Material Content Analysis dropdown. The new environmental report includes part status, reference PN availability and end-of-life information fields to the RoHS compliance and lead finish data.

Part Alias Technology™A high performance analysis, this tool cleanses and identifies part number matches for unknown parts. A new enhancement to the Parts Plus application eliminates incomplete reporting and analysis due to these unknowns. The user-friendly interface ensures that all AVL/BOM parts are recognized for attributes such as obsolescence status, lifecycle, PCN's, secondary sources, RoHS compliance status and declaration information.

Rami Nakash has joined EstablishUS as a Business Development Associate working in the Tel Aviv area. Rami is an experienced business development executive that has spent the last ten years with PartMiner Inc. as Managing Director of Israel and President of Emerging Markets for the firm. His organization helped global technology companies source suppliers in the electronic
component industry. Prior to PartMiner, Inc. Rami was the Managing Director and International

Israel's Components Market Survey 2007-2008

Two Leading Industry Magazines reporting two different numbers on their Annual market surveys for Electronics Components sales in 2007. (around 150Mil different in same Market?!"Electronica". Magazine reported sales of $900Mil. in 2007 and forecasting $945mil.
This year"Technologies" has Reported sales of $760Mil. in 2007 and forecasting $801mil in 2008.although the market is quite small and the key buyers and sellers were interviewed by both Mgz.. The changes represent the fact that one can only guess the numbers and it is probably anywhere between the two surveys: Israel 2007 Electronic components market size is roughly: $825,000,000 and 2008 will be approx: $875Mil.if we are lucky...there are plenty of layoffs around and no too many big money makers this year... the CM's are suffering heavily from the dollar exchange rates.
The new agenda is to have a new strategy on both sides vendors and customers .we at Exodus Technologies found that outsourcing a complete BOM to strategic partners is the way to go and with some of our strategic partners we have launched the BUYBOM program.
BTW-for this year Electronica show in Munich there is list of 19 Israeli companies so far who will exhibit among thousands of other global industry participants.

חברות רבות בתחום המחשבים האישיים נקלעו לקשיים, ועקב כך צפויות פשיטות רגל רבות - כך עולה מסקירה שערכו כלכלני דן אנד ברדסטריט.לפי הסקירה, הקשיים הפיננסיים באים לידי ביטוי, בין השאר, בבעיות בתזרים המזומנים, והסיבות העיקריות לטלטלה בענף הן המחירים הנמוכיםבתחרות שהולכת ומחריפה, החלשות הדולר ומעברן של רשתות השיווק לעבודהישירה מול היצרנים. כתוצאה מהתחרות החריפה, המרווחים התפעוליים שלהחברות הפועלות בענף נמוכים מאוד. בדן אנד ברדסטריט מעריכים כי הרווח הגולמי של השחקניות בתחום ההפצהנע בין 7% ל-15% בלבד

כיצד אפשרי שנחסוך מים דלק חשמל

העולם כמרקחה , הבורסות נופלות, חבית הנפט שוברת שיאי כל הזמנים ליטר בנזין כבר מעל 7 שקל !
הכינרת מיובשת - קמפיין ענק של "עוברים מאדום לשחור" יצא לדרך לחיסכון במים - כמה זה אכן יעזור ? (כנראה הרבה למשרדי הפרסום ולמשלטי החוצות...).

מדברים שנים על הצורך בהטפלת מים ועושים מעט , לבנתיים כולנו ממשיכים לנסוע לשתות ולבזבז כרגיל .
לדעתי יש מקום למדיניות יותר נוקבת מצד הממשלה והרשויות.
מעבר לחיסכון בהשקיית פארקים וכדומה יש מקום לתת לאזרחים את האינסנטיב לחסוך ולהרוויח מכך פעמים .
היות ועמנו אוהב צו'פארים אז יש לממשלה דרך אם היא תרצה תוכל לשפר המצב די מהר למשל מספר דוגמאות שעלו לי לראש:
מי שיצמצם צריכת החשמל במקומותיו (בית/מפעל/משרד)ביותר מ- 25% = מקבל הנחת בונוס כלשהי בחשבון החשמל שלו . מי לא רואה בזבוז במשרדים למשל או מפעלים שעובדים 24 שעות עם חשמל דולק כאשר יש אור יום מספיק טוב ובלילה כשיש 2 וחצי עובדים קומות שלמות מוארות... גם תאורות בכבישים אני רואה לעיתים קרובות מידי עמודי תאורה דולקים באמצע היום בערים ובדרכים בינעירוניות למשל כביש 5 אתמול ב13:00.
מי שיהיה מוכן להשבית ריכבו ליומיים בשבוע ישלם פחות אגרת רישוי או ביטוח.(כמו בשנות השבעים נדמה לי שהיתה מידבקה עם יום השבתון של הרכב כך תהה גם עתה עם יומיים, גם נציל חיים ככה כי יהיו פחות רכבים ופחות תאונות)
מי שיוריד ממוצע צריכת המים שלו במשך 6 חודשים לא ישלם חודש שביעי ... או ישלם 50%

אם יפעילו את הראש באמת יעזרו לנו בלי כל השלטים והכתבות .פרסומות בטלויזיה אלא בקנסות למבזבזים והוקרות לאיכפתניקים ...

רק ככה תהיה תקווה והאזרח ירגיש שהוא נוטל חלק וגם מרוויח בכיסו משהו כי הרוב הדומם לא ממש סופר את איכות הסביבה , חיסכון במים ובמשאבי טבע שאין לנו מהם בשפע לצערנ ויש לדחוף את העם ולדרבנו קצת יותר.

משום מה נראה לי שבדנמרק או הולנד זה היה עובד ... הלוואי שאני טועה ומישהו ירים את הכפפה ויעשה משהו שם למעלה .

July 7, 2008 –

Cypress Semiconductor Corp. (NYSE: CY), a leading developer and manufacturer of programmable mixed-signal
solutions and CMOS Image Sensor (CIS) components, and Tower Semiconductor, Ltd.
(Nasdaq: TSEM, TASE: TSEM), an independent specialty foundry, today announced the
successful completion of Cypress’s first 0.18-micron stitched large-format CIS device. The
product is to be manufactured using Tower Semiconductor’s latest generation of stitching
technology at Tower’s 200-mm Fab 2 in Migdal Ha’emek, Israel.
Cypress and Tower have collaborated on CIS products for more than five years, primarily using
Tower’s Fab 1 technology. Cypress is now also using Fab 2’s advanced 0.18-micron technology,
producing products serving a variety of applications, including industrial imaging, high-end
cameras and dental imaging.
Cypress’s stitched CIS product is the latest addition to Tower’s Fab 2, 0.18-micron technology
platform. Tower’s patented stitching technology overcomes photolithography tool limitations to
seamlessly tile 5.5-micron pixel sections into a large pixel array, resulting in ultra-high resolution,
high-quality color image sensors. This technology enables manufacturing of die sizes up to a
single die per 200-mm wafer.
Cypress is the market leader in the custom CIS market, with a broad portfolio of products for
high-speed imaging, machine vision, barcode, medical, and digital cinema applications.
Cypress’s design expertise and patented IP in custom large-die sensors, combined with Tower’s
high-performance CIS process capabilities, result in innovative sensors benefiting from the high
image quality and large die sizes that Tower’s technology enables.
